Feedback Summary

This is a heartfelt and genuine personal narrative about discovering cooking as a way to build independence and connection. The story has a clear arc — from living alone and eating out, to learning from the mother, to cooking for friends — and the emotional core is touching. The main areas to work on are grammar fundamentals: article usage, verb tense consistency, and subject-verb agreement, all of which are common challenges for Vietnamese speakers. With focused practice on these patterns, the writing will become much clearer and more polished.

The hobby that change my life is cooking. I start to learn cook about three year ago, when I move to another city for my work and I must live alone for the first time. At the beginning, I only can make instant noodle and fried egg. Every evening I buy food outside, and it was expensive and also not healthy. One day my mother call me from home and she teach me how to make a soup through the video call. The first time the soup was too salty, but I feel very happy because is my own food. After that, I watch many video on the internet and I try new dish every weekend. Now I can cook many Vietnamese food like pho, banh xeo and many kind of soup. Although cooking take a lot of time, but I never feel it is waste. This hobby change me in two way. First, I become more patient. When you cook, you cannot hurry, if you hurry the food will be bad. I learn to wait and to pay attention for small detail. Second, cooking help me to make friend in the new city. I often invite my colleague to my apartment at the weekend, we eat together and talk about our family, and now they are like my second family here. Sometimes I still cook badly, and my friend laugh at me. But I think this is the best thing I learn since I leave my home town, because it make me feel that everywhere I go, I can create a small home for myself.
