Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace

253 wordsJul 13, 2026
ScoreBand 6
Task Achievement 6.5/9
Strengths: Addresses all parts of the task with a clear position stated in the introduction and conclusion; Provides relevant examples, including a personal anecdote about a hospital in Shanghai; Attempts to acknowledge the opposing view before reaffirming the main position
To improve: Develop ideas more fully — the examples could be extended with more specific detail and explanation of how they support the argument; The conclusion is very brief and could more clearly synthesize the main arguments presented
Coherence & Cohesion 6.5/9
Strengths: Clear overall progression from introduction to body paragraphs to conclusion; Uses basic cohesive devices such as 'First', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal structure; Paragraphs are logically organized around distinct ideas
To improve: Some transitions between ideas within paragraphs are abrupt — for example, the shift from the hospital example to the student example in paragraph 2; Referencing could be clearer — pronouns like 'this' and 'it' are sometimes used without a clear antecedent
Lexical Resource 5.5/9
Strengths: Attempts to use some less common vocabulary such as 'artificial intelligence', 'widespread', and 'social instability'; Uses some topic-appropriate words like 'technology', 'machine', 'robot', and 'training'
To improve: Vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive — words like 'good', 'new', and 'job' are used frequently; Some word choices are imprecise or informal, such as 'good thing' and 'the good point'; Several spelling errors and word formation issues affect readability
Grammatical Range & Accuracy 5.5/9
Strengths: Attempts a variety of sentence structures, including some complex sentences with 'when' and 'so'; Shows willingness to use longer sentences with multiple clauses
To improve: Frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay — articles, verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement are consistently problematic; Errors occur in most sentences and sometimes make the meaning unclear, requiring the reader to re-read; The range of structures is limited, with many sentences following a simple subject-verb-object pattern

This essay shows a genuine attempt to address the prompt with a clear position and some relevant examples, including a personal anecdote that adds authenticity. The main areas to work on are grammatical accuracy — particularly articles, verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement, which are common challenges for Mandarin speakers — and expanding vocabulary to sound more academic. With continued practice on these fundamentals, the essay's structure and argumentation will shine through more clearly.

Nowadays the technology is develop very fast, and the artificial intelligence become more and more popular in many company. Some people think this is good thing, but other people worry about their job. In my opinion, I think the benefit is more than the drawback. First, the AI can help the company to save much money. In the factory, the robot can work whole day and night without rest, so the cost become lower and the product become cheaper. Also in the hospital, the computer can check the picture of X-ray very fast. Last year my cousin work in a hospital in Shanghai, he tell me the machine find the problem faster than the doctor. This kind of technology save many lifes. Also the AI can help the student to study English, this is very convenient. On the other hand, I know some people is worried. When the company buy the new machine, many worker lose their job, and they do not have enough skill to find the other job. This will make the social problem. Also is not easy for the old people to learn the new thing, they need much time. But I still think the good point is more. Every time when the new technology appear, some job disappear but more new job are created. For example the computer create many new job like the programmer. So the government should give more training to the worker. In conclusion, I agree the AI bring more benefit than drawback to the workplace.

Answered
Teacher, the feedback says my examples need more detail. But I thought Task 2 has only 40 minutes, so is it better to write more examples or write one example longer?

Chen Wei · 7/16/2026, 6:31:00 AM

One example, developed properly — always. Two thin examples score lower than one that you actually explain. Your Shanghai hospital example is a good one; it just stops too early. Add a sentence saying WHY faster detection matters, and you have what the band descriptor is asking for.

Understand, thank you teacher.

I do not understand the article mistakes. It marked "the technology is develop very fast" but in my head this sounds correct. Can you explain when I should not use "the"?

Students ask about their own feedback, on their own essay, and the teacher answers in context. In the live console the reply box sits below each thread and clears it from the To-do list.

  • Good structure, Chen Wei — the four-paragraph shape is right and your position is clear from the first line to the last. Two things to work on before the next one. The AI has your Lexical Resource at 5.5, and I agree. Look at how often "good", "new" and "job" carry the sentence; each of those has three or four alternatives you already know. The article errors are the cheaper fix and the bigger win — they run through every paragraph, and the Articles lesson it recommends is about forty minutes. Do that one first, then rewrite paragraph 2 only and send it to me.

The AI marks; the teacher decides. A submission stays on the To-do list as “to grade” until a teacher has commented on it, however confident the model was.
